Google Report by Sergey Brin, Lawrence Page

The College Report That Started Google

Read the original report on Google by Sergey Brin and Lawrence Page – the school project at Stanford University that began the Search Engine mecca you know today.

This amazing article, a shorter version of their entire project, is still original and unedited.

Amazing to consider that Google originally contained a database of 24 million pages, on 109gb of disk space. By comparison, most home computers now come with 500gb of disk space!

Today, it’s reported that Google contains an index of over 45 billion pages! [source]

Though Google has changed a lot since then, if you’re interested in the base of how they pioneered the Search Engine industry, this is a great read. If you’re into Social Media, Page Rank, how to get better ranking in Google, or Search Engine Optimization – this is a necessary read!
